Computer

  A computer is

Computer
a machine that can be programmed to automatically carry out sequences of arithmetic or logical operations (computation). Modern digital electronic computers can perform generic sets of operations known as programs. These programs enable computers to perform a wide range of task. COMPUTER Full Form: Full Form of Computer is “Common Operating Machine Purposely Used for Technological and Educational Research”. Computers are a necessary component of our daily lives in the current day. This means that computers are used in practically every industry, which facilitates and expedites our daily tasks. Today, computers are used in various locations, including our homes, banks, stores, schools, hospitals, and railways.

Charles Babbage

                  -Inventor

Charles Babbage KH FRS (/ˈbæbɪ/; 26 December 1791 – 18 October 1871) was an English polymath.[1] A mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer, Babbage originated the concept of a digital programmable computer.[2]

Babbage is considered by some to be "father of the computer".[2][3][4][5] He is credited with inventing the first mechanical computer, the Difference Engine, that eventually led to more complex electronic designs, though all the essential ideas of modern computers are to be found in his Analytical Engine, programmed using a principle openly borrowed from the Jacquard loom.[2][6] Babbage had a broad range of interests in addition to his work on computers covered in his 1832 book Economy of Manufactures and Machinery.[7] He was an important figure in the social scene in London, and is credited with importing the "scientific soirée" from France with his well-attended Saturday evening soirées.[8][9] His varied work in other fields has led him to be described as "pre-eminent" among the many polymaths of his century.[1]

Babbage, who died before the complete successful engineering of many of his designs, including his Difference Engine and Analytical Engine, remained a prominent figure in the ideating of computing. Parts of his incomplete mechanisms are on display in the Science Museum in London. In 1991, a functioning difference engine was constructed from the original plans. Built to tolerances achievable in the 19th century, the success of the finished engine indicated that Babbage's machine would have worked.

Features of Computer are:-

  • Memory - Computers have internal storage for data called main memory, and data can also  be stored on removable media like CDs and pen drives.
  • Accuracy - Computers are highly accurate and can perform calculations with a high level of precision.
  • Consistency - Computers can work in a reliable and predictable manner.
  • Diligence - Computers can perform millions of tasks or calculations with the same consistency and accuracy.
  • Operating System - An operating system is a program that provides a means of communication between the computer and the person working on it.
  • Logic - Computers are good at processing information because their processors can perform a huge number of logical operations very quickly.
  • Cooling Fan - A cooling fan is an important component of a laptop that prevents the machine from overheating and damaging the computer's other parts.
  • Data Communication - Data communications are the transmission of digital data between computers.
                                                     The input–process–output (IPO) model
, or input-process-output pattern, is a widely used approach in systems analysis and software engineering for describing the structure of an information processing program or other process. Many introductory programming and systems analysis
texts introduce this as the most basic structure for describing a process.

Computer has two major components :-

Hardware - Hardware is the physical components of a computer that allow it to function

Software - Software is a set of instructions, programs, and data that tells a computer how to operate and perform tasks
